Romulo was unlucky against Dortmund - but the Brazilian came up trumps at HSV. The attacker gets RB back into the game with his chipped goal. His coach can't help but make a comment.

Just over a week after his own goal in the draw against Borussia Dortmund, Leipzig attacker Romulo has made a successful comeback. In the Saxons' 2:1 (1:1) draw with HSV in Hamburg, the 24-year-old scored a dream equalizer and later set up Yan Diomande's opening goal. But it didn't all work out: Romulo missed a penalty and missed the 3:1.

"The people gave me great support. I was a bit sad about the own goal, but it happens," said Romulo and then talked about his second goal with a back heel in his debut season. He had already scored a similarly beautiful goal against Heidenheim at the start of the season. "I like to do that sometimes in training. And then it happens in the game," he said. Romulo had scored the equalizer with his back to goal and under pressure with his heel.

Coach Werner praises "wonderful goal" - and makes a joke

Before that, Romulo, who moved to RB from Turkey before the season, had gone six league games without scoring. "That's how it is as an attacker: sometimes it goes badly, sometimes it goes well. But I think the goals are coming again now," said the Brazilian.

Coach Ole Werner joked after the game: "I told him after the last game. The good thing is, he still knows where the goal is. He just has to remember that it's the other side at half-time. Then we laughed together and today he scored a wonderful goal."

RB Leipzig's victory keeps them in sight of the top quartet in the Bundesliga. The gap between the fifth-placed team and fourth place is just two points.
