June was a "top month" for the 100 or so campsites in Saxony with the start of the summer vacations and Whitsun. The situation was different in the other summer months.

Several amusement parks in Saxony are vying for visitors. Sonnenlandpark on the A4 is celebrating its 20th anniversary next year. A new attraction is already opening for the anniversary.

Saxony's tourism industry demands relief

In Chemnitz, swimmers can swim their lengths outdoors for an extra week - and elsewhere in Saxony, swimming in the open air is still possible until September.

Fish farming on the rise in Saxony
