In the last Bundesliga match before the World Cup, the Thuringian handball team put in a dominant performance against Metzingen. They were already well ahead at the break.

The Bundesliga handball players of Thüringer HC bid farewell to the six-week World Cup break with a convincing victory. The team of Head Coach Herbert Müller defeated TuS Metzingen 39:34 (19:12) in front of a home crowd. In front of 1,250 spectators, Csenge Kuczora was the best scorer for the THC with nine goals, which moved up to fourth place with 9:7 points after its third home win.

The club from Thuringia started the game with great pace and quickly took a 7:3 lead (8th minute). Metzingen benefited from a number of lapses in concentration by the home side midway through the first half, but the THC quickly regained control and pulled 19:12 ahead by the break.

After the break, the intensity in defense dropped considerably, but the club from Thuringia continued to shine in attack with its variable play and was also able to rely on the outstanding Kuczora. As a result, the clear victory never came under threat.
