The women's handball club Thüringer HC has recorded its sixth away win of the Bundesliga season. The team of Head Coach Herbert Müller won comfortably 28:23 (11:11) at TuS Metzingen on Saturday evening after improving in the second half. Johanna Reichert and Natsuki Aizawa were the THC's best scorers in front of 1,275 spectators with six goals apiece, as the club remains in fourth place with 23:13 points.
The Thuringians initially found it hard to get through against the compact TuS defense and had their strong goalkeeper Laura Kuske to thank for the fact that they were only just behind (3:4). The visitors stepped up the pace from midway through the first half, but because Metzingen also improved in attack, the encounter remained evenly poised up to the break.
The THC started the second half with much more determination and pulled 16:11 ahead in the 38th minute with a 5:0 run. The club from Thuringia did not relinquish control after that either. With quick transition play, they pulled 25:16 ahead by the 51st minute.
