RB Leipzig are interested in Christopher Nkunku's return, according to a media report. According to the portal "The Athletic", the Bundesliga club is in negotiations with Nkunku's club Chelsea FC.
According to media reports, FC Bayern Munich were also interested in the Frenchman this summer. However, a move to the German record champions is now said to have fallen through. Bayern wanted a loan deal, while Chelsea wanted to sell the 27-year-old on a permanent deal.
RB and Chelsea swap Nkunku and Simons?
Nkunku played for Leipzig from 2019 to 2023 before Chelsea signed him for a reported €60 million. He won the Conference League with the Londoners in the spring and most recently the Club World Cup in July. However, Nkunku was clearly not really happy at Stamford Bridge.
Leipzig's Xavi Simons could soon be playing for Chelsea instead of Nkunku. The Dutchman has been repeatedly linked with the Premier League club this summer. However, a Nkunku sale is said to be a prerequisite.
