Ole Werner with RB Leipzig against his former club Werder

For coach Ole Werner, RB Leipzig will face his former club Werder Bremen for the first time. On Sunday (3.30 pm/DAZN), the Saxons will host the Hanseatic side in the Bundesliga. Werner had to leave Bremen prematurely in May of this year after he informed Werder of his departure in the summer of 2026 following failed contract negotiations. Werner will be without central defender El Chadaille Bitshiabu (muscle injury) for the match.

Leipzig have an almost flawless home record against the North Germans, who are unbeaten in five games following their 4-0 defeat to FC Bayern Munich. In the last ten competitive matches against Bremen, RB have come away victorious seven times and drawn three times. RB are still unbeaten against Werder in their own stadium. The Saxons have also won four of their four home games so far this season.
