Even four defeats in the first five competitive games of the new season have not left any traces on the self-confidence of the players of promoted second division side Dynamo Dresden - at least not from the point of view of coach Thomas Stamm. He emphasized ahead of the away game at SV Elversberg on Sunday (13:30/Sky) that the team is still very focused. "Last season, they never took off after the wins, and now there is no major unrest either," said the coach.
Of course, a defeat would be processed differently than a success. "The 48 hours after a game that you lose are different to when you win it. But that's how it should be," said Stamm. "If we don't do things well, they get named and shamed, not just by me but also by the players themselves. The lads have a good sense of not getting carried away with things, either one way or the other." Not much has changed compared to the previous season.
Absolved of all the statistics, Stamm said that the team had not been rewarded in the first few games. "I see the team approaching the game against the current second-placed team in the table without any pressure. We have to approach all games with a lot of humility, but also courage. And we've got a good feeling from the games so far. Not from the results, but from the approach," said Stamm.
