Theater summer seeks extras for GDR alien adventure

Aliens in Upper Lusatia: extras are being sought for the production of the GDR children's series "Spuk von draußen" at this year's Bautzen Theater Summer. A casting is planned for March 20 in the main theater on Seminarstraße in Bautzen, as announced by the Deutsch-Sorbisches Volkstheater. They are looking for adults aged 18 and over, who ideally already have stage experience. Doubles for the extraterrestrials are also being sought for the play.

This year's Bautzen Theater Summer will reportedly take place from June 18 to July 26 in the Ortenburg courtyard. Rehearsals for the extras are scheduled to begin on May 6. Rehearsals will generally take place on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings. Last year, the series "Spuk unterm Riesenrad" from the successful "Spuk" series by Claus Ulrich Wiesner and Günter Meyer was already brought to the stage.

Story relocated from the Ore Mountains to Upper Lusatia

In the series from 1987, a family moves into an old house that was built by aliens as a vacation home. However, the aliens, called Obscurans, now want to demolish the house, which the family's children want to prevent. Instead of the Ore Mountains, the story now takes place in Upper Lusatia - with the local color that goes with it.
